The Art of Person-centred Care
Learn what person-centred care is, and explore the philosophy of person-centred care in your workplace. The philosophy may be an existing one or a new one that you wish to implement. You will also design person-centred care activities for a person with dementia (case study) and explore how you would implement person-centred care strategies in your workplace, including strengths and weaknesses in your current strategy to ensure that what you learn from the workshop is practiced at work.
Duration: 4 hours
Investment: $130 per person (does not include travel and venue costs). GST inclusive.
Behaviour Management and Dementia
The workshop will help you learn how to use functional analysis as an intervention strategy to manage difficult behaviour. You will practice what you have learned in the session and receive feedback. You will learn different types of behaviour management strategies including functional analysis. Functional analysis is a useful strategy when there are more than one behaviour, helps the person caring for the person with dementia find out the causal relationship associated with the behaviour and to work with causes that are modifiable. This strategy is not only useful for people with dementia but any person who has a behaviour of concern. Learn about triggers that cause certain behaviours, if they are modifiable, and if so how to modify them to manage the behaviour. This workshop will also include helping participants identify when behaviour management is abusive rather than helpful and how to report elder abuse. It will also include how to document behaviour of concern.
Duration: 4 hours
Investment: $130 per person (does not include travel and venue costs) GST inclusive.
All workshops have a minimum of $400 per centre + gst and travel
