Solution Focused Therapy

Solution focused therapy will help you focus and expand on solutions rather than the problem.  It is a short term treatment and can also be used in conjunction with other treatments.  Solution focused therapy includes the miracle questions to help the client become aware of what it would look and feel like if the problem had been solved by a miracle.  The miracle question can help motivate the client to work through solutions and understand the benefits of change.

Solution focused therapy may include action in the form of a task to be taken to enable the solutions to become realised.  The client will be in control as he or she will suggest the task, may not want a task and may decide is not ready to complete the task.
